What we work on

Draining

Filters and sump, the drain pump, the drain hose, the disposer connection and the air gap.

Filling and leaks

The supply connection, the hoses under the tub and the door seal.

Wash results

Spray arms, filters, detergent and rinse-aid dosing, and on softener models the hardness setting and the salt.

Controls

Messages on the display, a cycle that stops partway, a panel that stays dark.

How a Cove visit runs

  1. We ask what you have seen, and when it started.
  2. We check the filters and sump, then run the dishwasher and watch it fill and drain.
  3. With the kick plate off, we test the pump, the hoses and the connections under the tub.
  4. You get the price of the repair before anything is replaced.

The bill

You pay $89 for the visit, and that pays for finding the fault. Say yes to the repair and those $89 count toward it. Cove repairs have no published range on this site: the figure is worked out once the cause is known, and agreed with you before anything is replaced.

Worth knowing before you call

  • The “Clean Filter” message appears every 30 cycles as a reminder. It is not a fault.
  • A little water under the filters, in the sump, is normal. Water above them is not.
  • Softener models leave the factory with the hardness set to 0, which stops the softener working until it is set from the supplied test strip.

Standing water has its own checklist: when a Cove will not drain. Film and spots that began in May or October are covered on the May water switch.

Cove questions

My Cove stops with a drain message. Should I keep restarting it?

Clean the filters and try once more, since blocked filters head the list of checks on Cove’s own drain page. If the same message comes back after that, stop restarting and call. A message that returns on clean filters means the fault is somewhere you cannot reach without taking the kick plate off.

Should I run the dishwasher before you arrive?

If it is holding water, leave the water where it is and do not start another cycle; what is left in the tub shows us where the drain stops. If it is leaking, close the supply valve under the sink. Otherwise use it as normal until the visit.
